Job Title: Contracts Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Contracts Manager with a minimum of 20 years of proven experience in the construction and engineering industry. The role is responsible for managing all contractual aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with legal, commercial, and company requirements, while safeguarding the organization’s interests throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in contract administration, claims management, and risk mitigation, with the ability to lead complex negotiations and support project delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management & Administration:
- Lead the preparation, review, and administration of contracts, subcontracts, and agreements.
- Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards (e.g., FIDIC).
- Interpret contractual obligations and provide guidance to project teams.
Pre-Contract Activities:
- Review tender documents, conditions of contract, and specifications.
- Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support commercial and estimation teams during bid preparation.
Post-Contract Management:
- Oversee contract execution to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Manage correspondence related to contractual matters with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress in relation to contractual obligations.
Claims & Dispute Resolution:
- Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate claims, variations, and change orders.
- Handle dispute resolution processes, including negotiations, mediation, and arbitration if required.
- Maintain proper documentation to support contractual claims.
Commercial & Risk Management:
- Identify commercial risks and implement risk management strategies.
- Ensure proper contract close-out procedures.
- Advise management on contractual exposure and liabilities.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Liaise with clients, consultants, legal advisors, and internal teams.
- Support project managers in contractual decision-making.
- Provide training and guidance on contract-related matters.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- Certification or Degree in Project Management (preferred)
- Minimum 20 years of experience in contracts management within construction/engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contracts
- Proven experience in claims management and dispute resolution
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience in GCC, preferably Oman, is highly desirable
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary Range: OMR 950 – 1,300 per month (based on experience and qualifications)
